Spanish Mustangs roam free in someone's back yard in Corolla, North Carolina, Tuesday, November 10, 2020. Spanish Mustangs first arrived on the beaches of the Outer Banks with the first wave of European settlers and have been adapting to island life since then. The horses have adapted to a new no sugar diet and found their own fresh water by digging the sand. This part of the island is now a reserve with a fence to limit human interaction with intent to keep them as wild as possible.
